OpSec (Operations Security) is the act of protecting your identity during an investigation.

Proxy Sites

  • Nitter : Nitter is a free and open source alternative Twitter front-end focused on privacy, it prevents Twitter from tracking your IP or browser fingerprint. It does not include any JavaScript.
  • Invidious : Privacy-focused, open source alternative frontend for YouTube.

Web Browsers

  • Mullvad Browser : Mullvad Browser is free and open source software, whether or not you are a Mullvad VPN user. A browser co-developed by Tor. To be used with a VPN instead of the Tor network.
  • Tor Browser : Tor Browser is a free web browser based on Mozilla Firefox LTS that allows you to browse anonymously on the Tor anonymization network. It is developed by The Tor Project organization. The browser is available for PC (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Android.

File Sharing

  • OnionShare : Open source tool that lets you securely and anonymously share a file of any size using the Tor network.

Operating Systems

  • Tails OS: is a free and open-source operating system that uses the Tor network to protect your privacy online and avoid surveillance, censorship, and viruses. You can download Tails for free and use it on your USB stick, and it includes a selection of applications for digital security and communication.
  • Qubes OS: is a free and open-source, security-oriented operating system for single-user desktop computing. Qubes OS leverages Xen-based virtualization to allow for the creation and management of isolated compartments called qubes

VPN

  • Mullvad VPN: The only VPN that proved to not giving clients informations to the police.
